Dubuque Entrepreneurs Recognized!

This week 3 teams from this Spring's cohort of Iowa Venture School are getting noticed at statewide events!

Eric Peters from Boundry and Tyrel Nelson from Horse Block Auction will be pitching their business ideas at EntreFest this week. They are 2 of 8 business ideas chosen from more than 60 across the state to pitch at this 2-day statewide entrepreneurship event! It's the largest entrepreneurship event in the State of Iowa! They are competing for CASH PRIZES!! Wish them luck!!

Shamika Rainer from Luxurious Hair Spa has been chosen to advance to the State level in Main Street Iowa's Open For Business. Shamika is competing for CASH PRIZES to help launch her new product line! Good luck Shamika!

Iowa Venture School helps early startups focus on what your business will do and who will want those services.

Earlier this Spring, 8 companies participated in Venture School including Boundary, Cosmic Rose Coaching, Content Made Right, Goddess Gaia, Horse Auction Block, Kate & Co., Luxurious Hair Spa, Riahrare Spark on Bluff.

Iowa Venture School is a seven-week business accelerator program produced by the University of Iowa and the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurship Centers in Iowa. Since its launch, Iowa Venture School has helped more than 325 startups throughout the state. In February, seven Dubuque startups began their journey.

Iowa Venture School is happening in Dubuque thanks to support from Dupaco Community Credit Union, the Northeast Iowa Small Business Development Center, and Creative Adventure Lab.
